Product Description
When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder -- and money tighter -- sincehis father died and the family bakery closed...Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning. What he got from her instead was a sweater. A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room.Scarreddeeply by the realization that kids don t always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life s most valuabletreasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie s dark andpainful journey on the road to manhood. It will take wrestling withhimself, his faith, and his family -- and the guidance of a mysteriousneighbor named Russell -- to help Eddie find his path through the stormclouds of life and finally see the real significance of that simplegift his mother had crafted by hand with love in her heart. 1 out of 5 stars definitive proof that glenn beck is insane   September 8, 2010
baffled
I just listened to the audiobook version of this. Holy crap on a stick, you people actually liked this garbage??

Ok, first off the entire story is made-up. None of this is true, he even admitted it. It's just the ramblings of a drunk who has made a career off of ripping off the elderly, paranoid, and stupid. Buy GOLD? The man tries to sell you gold through the television. Do you people actually buy bricks of gold and put it in your basement? If you do, I would love to come see your house and your stockpile of gold. I mean, I know you all want life to go back to the 1900's, but now you are all trying to be prospectors?

There's 3 pages in the book where he talks about how he used to eat peanut butter with a spoon. That's it. The end of the story, and then he chuckles at the end of it because his mom thought he was such a "rascal". Who the hell finds that funny? Stupid people, old people, and old stupid people that's who. Your grandma will love this book because it's safe and reminds her of those hokey christmas specials with john denver and the muppets. %80 of the book is about how he used to search around his house for christmas presents. I have to ask again, WHO WANTS TO READ THIS!?!?!? At the end he crowbars some cliche phrases about Jesus (jesus is the reason for the season!) and the true meaning of christmas, so everyone has an "aww" moment and all these "real christians" feel like they can't hate his 100+ pages of made-up gibberish.

The man is insane. He's insane. There is no debating this anymore. This books is definitive evidence that he should be locked away somewhere. And that goes for all of you who bought this book and didn't vomit as well. This book made me never want to celebrate Christmas ever again.

2 out of 5 stars Questions for Your Soul.   August 26, 2010
Healthy, Fit & Fine (USA)
To speak about God and the Christian faith as he does, Beck is oftentimes abrasive in his discussions, and as a Christian, it pains me. In this day of spiritual questions, religious tolerance and people unfortunately/sadly trying to remove God from our everyday environment, a Kindle book that deals with spirituality is a workbook with questions for your soul. Being Honest with God and Me: Questions for Your Soul. It probes many factions of our relationship with others and with God. What has been your soul's journey? I'd like Glenn B. to take spiritual inventory, he might be amazed at what he woudl find.

5 out of 5 stars Best Story I've Read in Years   August 22, 2010
V
Glenn Beck's "The Crhistmas Sweater" is the best book I've read in years. It's a fast read and so well written. I will be ordering this book for everyone on my Crhistmas list this year. We need more Glenn Becks in this country.

5 out of 5 stars A Must Read   August 18, 2010
Elaine Spencer
A great book that is not just a hollow story. Ordered multipli copies from Amazon and distributed to friends and family. Caution: Be careful not to miss the three short addendum/credit/comment sections at the end. Touching and inspirational. Well done.

1 out of 5 stars I vomitted on the book!!   August 4, 2010

Glenn Beck makes millions selling lies and deceit and interweaving it with the founding fathers, religion and what God wants. Glenn Beck makes his money from the grand lair and master of hate Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch is a fascist who believes only the rich should decide political or economic policies. Glenn Beck exists to brainwash true believers into voting for the real lie. These guys are successful at lying and deceit. If they succeed the American people will completely support the rich and have no social welfare.
